Remove images from Google Docs and Word.
Remove the images you choose — or all supported images — and get a copy without them: a DOCX to download or a new Google Docs copy. Your original document is never changed.

A copy of your document without its images
Import a Google Docs link or upload a Microsoft Word DOCX. Every image placement appears in a gallery with a checkbox. Choose the images to remove, or remove all of them, then pick the result: a DOCX copy to download, or — for a Google Doc — a new Google Docs copy in your Drive. The original document stays exactly as it was.
This is useful for a text-only version for review, a lighter file to send by email, or a draft without placeholder pictures. Images inside text boxes, groups or comments, and linked images, are named in the result if they can’t be removed.
What the copy contains
The DOCX copy keeps the text, tables, comments and formatting of your file, without the images you removed. A Google Docs copy is made by Google Drive first and the images are then removed only from that copy; Google doesn’t copy comments into a new document, and suggested edits may not be carried over — both stay in the original.
Questions & answers
Will my original document change?
No. Every option works on a copy. There is no mode that edits the original.
Can I remove only some images?
Yes. Tick the images in the gallery and choose Remove selected images, or use Remove all images.
Do I need a Google account?
Not for a Word DOCX or a public Google Docs link with a DOCX copy. Creating a Google Docs copy needs Google sign-in with access to the document.
