In the print dialog, choose “Save as PDF”. A4 portrait works best. Turn off browser headers and footers.
Save the images inside your document
Extract images from Microsoft Word DOCX or Google Docs without saving each one through a separate drawing or screenshot. Import a Google Docs link or upload your Word file, then browse the embedded image files. Save a single image from its preview card or download all available images in a ZIP. The source document is left unchanged.
This is useful when collecting illustrations for a website, recovering photographs from a shared draft or handing design assets to a colleague. Each result shows the embedded filename and file size, so you can choose the assets you need. The gallery remains available after downloading an image; there is no need to import the document again for every file.
Example download
Suppose a travel article includes a cover photograph, two maps and several smaller illustrations. The result presents separate previews for the media found in the DOCX. Download image saves that individual file. Download ZIP collects the embedded files together. For an archive containing alt text, captions and nearby context alongside the pictures, choose Images + captions on the Export all page.
What image quality means here
Downloads use the image data actually stored inside the DOCX. They do not recreate the original camera file or reverse compression performed before export. External image links are not downloaded. Some embedded formats may not display a browser preview even though the file can still be saved. Media storage can also differ from the visible number of image placements in a document.
Questions & answers
Can I download only one picture?
Yes. Use Download image on its preview card. A full ZIP is optional and is helpful when you need every embedded media file.
Can I use a Word file without Google?
Yes. Upload a Microsoft Word DOCX directly, without a Google account. For Google Docs, a public link can import directly; a private link may require connecting Google.
Are the images resized or converted?
The image download tool extracts embedded files without deliberately recompressing them. The separate Compress images tool creates a modified DOCX when you want smaller document images.
Where do captions and alt text go?
The dedicated image page focuses on the files. Export all includes an images-context.csv list with the available caption, alt text and surrounding context, using meaningful export filenames.
